Where do you train and what times?

We train at the Harvey Hadden Sports Centre, Bilborough, Nottingham, on a Wednesday and Sunday from January until August/September.League matches are held on Sundays so at times in the season there will be no training but a match instead. We also hold winter camps every December for players new to the sport to come down but we always welcome new faces at any stage of the season.

On a Wednesday we train indoors, and outdoors as the conditions and temperature improves over the summer, from 8pm until 10pm.
On a Sunday we train outdoors from 10am until 1pm.

If you would like to attend training and haven't been before then please arrive at least 20 minutes in advance of the times listed above as training will start at these times and you may need to fill in paperwork and talk to the coaches before hand.

What equipment do I need?

If you are new to the sport then you will just need suitable clothing and a gum shield.

If you attend training on a Wednesday then shorts and a t-shirt are ideal and you will need a pair of trainers suitable for use in a sports hall.
If you attend training on a Sunday then studded boots are a must as we train outdoors. Warm clothing that you do not mind getting muddy is needed and a change of clothing is recommended as the field can be muddy depending on conditions.

If you have previously played the sport then you can bring down any equipment that you may have (shoulder pads, helmet, etc) but if you haven't then do not worry as we do have some equipment at the club that can be borrowed.

Do you play in a league and when?

Yes, we play in the British American Football League (BAFL) and are currently playing Division 1 football in the East league. The BAFL has many divisions and more information can be found on their site but the culmination of the league is the Britbowl which hosts the title match for the top two teams in each Division.

The season runs from May until September where teams will play each other twice; once at home and once away.
